Yes, it’s common for agencies to employ the “try before buy” option when it comes to hiring. It’s likely best to take the freelance offers, kick arse in them, get them to see what you’re made of and what value you bring, and then see if they pull the trigger. At the very least, you’ll keep getting paid, and you’ll make connections that would call you back for other freelance gigs, or full time offers now that they know what they’re getting into. Ah, stability, I vaguely remember that. These days it just doesn't seem possible. With all the chaos in the economy, not to mention the world at large, organizations are just hesitant to commit to hiring anyone.
