I mean, I hope not, but the chance of laying off tons of people in order to do things cheaper? That seems to be the way the government is heading.
There's been a lot of reporting about government agencies contracting with AI outfits. Just in the past week it so it came out that the Defense Department was going to pay some ridiculous amount to integrate Grok, Elon's AI tool. And this was a week after Grok started spouting anti-Semitic rhetoric. You really couldn't make this up, it's like the movie Idiocracy but real life.
We're going to see an increase in contracts that don't make sense going to the private sector, and right now the private sector is obsessed with AI. I think it will be a big problem.
🤓 1st. Let me say this I just said this also yesterday AI , is just a big dictionary just the same as Google. I don’t understand why people think that AI is so brilliant and just as Man put all the knowledge in computers to make it more accessible for people to find AI is just a big dictionary just like Google it’s one big Webster except you don’t have to let your fingers do to walk in. You can let your fingers do the punching of the website. AI could not possibly be smarter than 🧚🏿♂️ Man Man is the one that put all the knowledge into AI as it does computers like IBM and so many other companies it’s just makes it easier and accessible for a manto find your answers faster like a microwave. It makes you cook your food faster. Tell me what you think about that
You make an excellent point. Government agencies aren’t looking to be on the cutting edge of technology. It might come to that, 100 years down the road.
Doesn't the government seem super interested in AI right now? I don't know what makes you think they won't be seeking AI. Sure they are behind in all sorts of tech efficiency ways, but I think the right wing (and parts of the dem party too) seem very in bed with big tech right now. I wouldn't be surprised if all of these jobs cuts amount to higher usage of AI in government agencies
Well, while the government will not want to fund AI development. They’ll have no problem taking what someone else does and using that replace us. So that is the concern.
PTO is heavily interested in AI and forcing examiners to use it.
