Litigated for ~ 7 years. FWIW I had to take a detour for 2 years to end up where I wanted to end up but well worth it.
If trying to get there directly, highlight a case or two that have real application to the role you’re seeking. Don’t just mention boilerplate “different thinker” language.

Very helpful. I think in order that your letter not seem weak you need to be specific or talk to more people first. Agree with what VP said, you’ll want to show concrete experience advising clients but it’s vital you also illustrate you know how differently a consultant-advisor has to think, compared to a litigator (even one with a heavy advisory practice). To oversimplify it grossly: Litigators work within fixed universe of information and principles (law and fact); consultants apply their firm’s investigative principles to an open set of information.
