South Sandy springs is nice. So is Vinings/Smyrna, which is a bit better in terms of traffic getting to midtown
South Sandy springs / right at 285&400
Based on what you’ve described try to stay walking distance to a neighborhood village where you will have bars, restaurants, and little shops…being just east of Piedmont park in morningside/Lenox park, VaHi, poncey higlands would give you those options and still manageable to get to the belt line to get to inman, o4w, grant park areas or up to buckhead if you wanted. Depending what flexibility you have with your career, if in midtown/downtown those areas are a quick drive or ebike ride.
East Atlanta/ Little five points
Come to Vinings!
Vining is a good one
Vinings is a great area. Close to downtown, but out of the city, and it still has walkability with some bars and restaurants. The key to Atlanta is good interstate access and it puts you at 75 and 285, with lots of surface street options as well so traffic can't box you in too bad. My wife and I have real estate investments and have lived all over the city. She's also an agent, so DM me if you want to connect directly.
Second for vinings. Teasley elementary is fantastic.
I live in Sandy Springs close to State Farm and it’s close to MARTA for major events in the city and it’s a short 20-30 minute drive to midtown. Buckhead is about a 10-15 minute drive too. Vinings/Smyrna is about 15-20 minutes. Also a short drive from anything happening in Alpharetta. When we travel we take MARTA down to the airport and it’s a direct 45 minute ride. Super convenient to live in Sandy Springs and most people tell me that their favorite restaurants are here too so you’ll be close to some action. 😊
Def sandy springs
Depends how suburban you want. Decatur almost feels like a small town to me but you’re close to everything
Decatur
An economical spot on the up-and-up is the Upper Westside. There’s a great neighborhood called Liberty Park - and a few townhouses are for sale
Glenwood Park/Ormewood Park/Grant Park
I really like certain parts of East Point for buyers right now and I like the location.
I lived in Vinings for a while and I loved the location but if you’re looking to buy it can get pricey.
I’m in Chamblee. Here or Brookhaven are great choices. Lots of lil new apartments on Peachtree Blvd.
Doraville, Chamblee, and Dunwoody is amazing. I’ve lived in all three cities and don’t plan on moving anywhere else. I am also a real estate agent. Will be glad to help you house hunt.
That’d be awesome. Feel free to DM me.
Sandy Springs, Chamblee, Dunwoody are going to give you the most bang for your buck
I had two friends recently move to grant park renting a house and chosewood park buying a townhouse. Both places look nice and not far from the city
Hands down summerhill. 10 mins away from everything in the city, but outside of the traffic enough to go to grocery stores, restaurants, etc without any headaches
At lot seems to be developing over there. I was at the beacon and saw a Publix going on on Hank Aaron with a ton of houses
Decatur, Brookhaven, or somewhere in between
Brookhaven by the planet fitness $1 a month
I live in West Midtown, it’s hot and trending and close enough to everything but cheap enough
If you are open to a condo or townhouse, the Cross Creek neighborhood is a hidden gem on the Upper Westside.
