I love watching innovative sci-fi that could be a possibility in the future. For instance I loved Westworld and their idea of uploading cautiousness to a robot. What’s your favorite sci-fi show?

Twilight Zone, easily. I just recently started rewatching the series, and eerie how on point a lot of that was for the time period to now. Of course, depends on the specific show!

I currently work at a large research institution and am in the process of getting retroactively reclassified to a new title (Long story but my PI is cheap and routinely pays ppl the bare minimum so now the Union is helping me w/ a retro reclass.) Reclass can take 2 - 6 months to process. Meanwhile, I am interviewing for industry job. If I get an industry job, what do I do if my reclass isn’t processed yet? I want the title and the money owed which may be about $15000- 20000.

It is elementary that the development of a theory is based on completed and finished works or theories with a sufficient basis to be possible. But what were guys like Plato based on? I am fairly green in academia (< 1 year) and I want to shift to an area of research which I always wanted to do but never could as a Ph.D. student (because of conflict of interest).
The issue I am facing is that due to lack of my documented research experience in this field (read, lack of papers) I am finding it very hard to land any grant and reviewers keep saying "The PI hasn't demonstrated any experience in said research" blah blah.
Any advice on how to overcome this?

How many years did it take before you could pay off all your med school loans? I'm starting to feel like it won't even be possible.
