"Trusted with more responsibility" is just "we're understaffed" with a bow on it. I've heard the same line — and the thing is, trust doesn't pay the bills or add hours to your day. If the workload is genuinely unsustainable, that's a resourcing problem, not a compliment. Have you tried putting the account load in writing so there's a paper trail when it comes to review time?

This sounds like s/he wants to take advantage and overwork you. Start setting boundaries and saying no if you’re stressed or can’t complete an assignment on time

Sounds like a cop out to me. They need someone to do the work and you are the guy (or girl). I don't blame you for feeling annoyed, that isn't a real solution.

I’d start framing it as asking for what you need to support the quality and continued work. Find the line between you can do it, just need the resources to allow it.
