I need some opinions. I accepted a job as a digital marketing person for a company for $20. Day 1 in, I realized I would be doing marketing, Google ads, socials, email marketing, direct mail marketing and more for THREE of their sub business (D.B.A.) at the same time! They have a 4th business they just launched but decided to let an agency do that launch. Nothing on the job ad said I would managing 3 TOTALLY different business with different audiences and products. Is this ok for them to do?

I recommended a candidate for hire to a manager that reports directly to me. This person is a perfect match, but wanted the manager to obviously recommend. It has to be a fit. The manager just told me my recommendation is not her top pick. I feel frustrated because as much as we talk about the position, I wonder if we are mot aligned on criteria. What do I do? Do I push more for the person I want or will I cause an issue with the hiring manager? How do I get her to see this person’s value?

I currently work at a small PI firm in Atlanta were EVERYTHING is settled presuit. If we’re unable to settle, then it’s referred to another firm for litigation. This whole process seems very atypical to me and the attorneys rarely touch a file until the first liability offer is received. The paralegals handle everything from intake to drafting the demands. The attorney briefly skims (does NOT read) the demand packages and signs. Is this ethical?? Anyone else work at a firm that is run this way??

I was in the office (pre-c19) on the Friday after thanksgiving so I could get some stuff done while it was empty. A peer Director was also there and asked me for help with something. I helped him a for while, then he said, “this is really helpful, I have to go to an all team meeting for 30 minutes, but could we finish after that?” Me: “an all team meeting today?” Him: “yeah, I always schedule an all team meeting on days like this so people can’t pretend to wfh when they are really on pto.” smh 🤦‍♂️

Hey fishes, recently got an offer of 245k plus a bonus, but no specificity and at least 3% cost of living annual raise. My current job I make 150k plus a 20% bonus and an annual cost of living raise anywhere from 2-3.5%. Have been in my current position about a year. I received a job offer from company A and am currently negotiating salary. I have an interview with company B next week and know that they offer a higher base pay. There’s no guarantee that I will be offered a job at company B but my gut is telling me that company B would be a better fit for me. Should I accept the offer from company A, continue interview process with company B and then rescind my offer with company A if company B offers me a job? Will I be burning bridges?
