I never realized how many hats I’d have to wear as a teacher. One moment I’m facilitating class discussions, the next, I’m comforting a student who's having a rough day. Does anyone else relate to the struggle of balancing all these roles?

There's always a lot more involved than just teaching the subject. But you get used to it and just take it in stride. It does occur to me at times that a lot of kids live surrounded by chaos, and just modeling steady behavior may be one of the most important things we can do.

I think our students definitely need a steady, solid, safe place. Especially with all of the chaos and trauma they experience.

I can relate so much to this. There are days when I’m switching gears every few minutes. It’s challenging to stay on top of everything, but in those moments, I remember why I do what I do and love all of it.
