Hi Everyone, I am trying to apply for a Technical Support role at Dropbox I’m entering all the required fields but there seems to be an issue, when I hit submit after filling the form, it doesn’t submit and throws error ‘Looks like you left this blank! Please fill out this required field’ when all the fields are entered already (I have checked so many times, and filled the form from scratch several times too). Anyone from Dropbox who can put me in touch with HR or suggest what I should do next?

BTW… pharma is a great space to be in.., even though most of their development is in India, Pakistan, Philippines, etc… hope the M&A phase that cost me my job in pharma is past. I’d have stayed in Pharma… health care is a huge sector (I had 16 years in mid-level pharma plus I helped my daughter write her undergrad capstone in Health Economics and picked up some industry stuff I didn’t know from the economics perspective).
All the talk about cost cutting is never far from my thoughts. Companies are nervous about the economy, and I suppose about the world in general, and it seems like there is a shift toward always wanting to extract more value from each resource. Which means squeezing workers until they perform beyond their traditional duties. At some point it probably becomes untenable, but it's like we're in some big experiment to see how much value can be squeezed out of each one of us.
Always be adaptable. I started in this field back in 1987, somewhat similar labor market. I started as a consultant in a resource management organization that provided consulting services. My boss at the time told me something that on the surface sounds crappy: don’t be afraid to be taken advantage of. For over a year, my primary job was a report developer but I was doing all kinds of different functions: preparing meeting slides, writing reports, performing night time hardware moves between the lab and the bonded warehouse. I did a lot of different jobs but I made a lot of contacts in other areas of the company. When the consultants got pulled out.. I was one of the 10 consultants out of 100 that were hired on and by that time I was a full time application developer. I keep hearing things have things have changed.. dont let yourself be “young and dumb”. Companies do like them young and dumb but it’s a tough call to decide when you’re being abused with no gain to you that can’t be turned into a growth opportunity. Keep in mind… the difference between you and the $10/hr developer is the value you add by being there and knowing the company and the players. Keep in mind, this is just my own experience.
