Any other HR Professionals tired of not being consider for a role just because you haven’t worked in a tech start up? Honestly, I don’t know if I will be a fit or not (nor do they) if they say no even before the hiring manager has spoken to me. There are so many HR openings in tech right now so saying no people that haven’t worked in tech doesn’t make sense to me. I know my worth so I have moved on when this happens, just curious to see if others have seen the same.

I am going into my third year as an Account Executive at 24 years old. The company I work for specializes in application development services. We focus on Public Sector, I have been given the opportunity to join the region that is currently producing the most revenue for the company. I have yet to receive my quota yet but I am being told it will be between 25-30M. I am trying to be great and crush my quota, I am open to any and all tips on how I can learn to be a top producer and crush it.

Anyone who works in power BI have any template reports regarding ( average turnover , apps per opening, time to fill, termination, etc)

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I have a few friends that are doing two full time outside sales roles at once (in different industries.) Anybody else doing this? Is it manageable?

How diligent is Mintz background check. When it comes to education? My references, credit, criminal and work experiences will check out. However said I already graduated school when I am in reality a month away from graduating. The company sent over the contract and start date at the same time as the background check.

Thoughts on PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP certs? I have approximately 9 years of HR exp and my bachelors and MBA. Been debating on whether or not I need to fulfill my urge to get a certification. What are your thoughts about being offered a more junior role in a multinational company. I haven’t seen the offer yet but I would assume it will be at par of my current or a bit higher.

I’m taking the SPHR in less than 2 months and haven’t started studying for it. How difficult is it? I’ve been in HR for 20 years and have experienced ALOT in that time, although there are always employee relations scenarios that surprise me! How much do I really need to study for this? I just can’t seem to motivate myself to do it, I’m so mentally burnt out at the end of the day from a high stress HR job, the last thing I feel like doing is studying HR!

Does anyone have any recommendations for regional sales/recruiting manager roles in the Nashville area that pays a livable Salary plus commissions. I have been in Sales for 15 years, and management roles for over 5. I moved to TN in 2019 right before the pandemic and it has been one thing after the next. I have considered tech sales courses to get into that but I love working for staffing companies, managing clients/recruiters/other sales staff and being in the field as well as in the office.

I am a new joinee at USI. I used to do freelancing on the side before joining here and might even continue doing that as per my availability. Should I disclose this and get an approval from my manager?

I am the only immigrant with an accent in my office and it’s almost a daily thing now that my bosses/coworkers would explain terms to me that I already know. I’d often freeze when they do that because my first reaction is always confused. How do you talk about it with them after the fact especially when it seems like it’s not a big deal to them?
