I received a job offer to an Amazon DSP company. The interview went great, everything seemed extremely positive. I completed the entire onboarding process and was only waiting for my background check to come back before starting training. The app said I would receive an email within 10 days with next steps but it's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard anything, the recruiter hasn't answered my calls or responded to my texts and there's no other contact info online. Do I give up or hold out?

Most importantly keep applying elsewhere in parallel. Never pause your search waiting on one opportunity, no matter how promising it looked. You deserve a company that communicates clearly, and if this is how they handle onboarding, that tells you something too. Wishing you clarity soon!

I've still been applying and actually have another job offer at Spectrum but the background check seems to be taking forever there also, I'd just prefer to have the spot at Amazon. At least they'll respond to me tho 😅

I think it’s actually fairly common for a jobseeker to accept a job, even start that job, then leave for a different opportunity that they were offered during their search. This same thing actually just happened at my employer. The new guy left 2 months into the job bc he got another offer. Do employers like it? No, but who cares? You have to do what’s best for you. Keep all options open and pursue them all knowing you are not tied to any one opportunity.

A few suggestions: Try reaching the recruiter one more time via email with a brief, professional note referencing your offer and asking for a status update. If you have any paperwork (offer letter, onboarding confirmation), check if there’s an HR email or a general company contact you can escalate to. You can also try contacting Amazon’s DSP support directly since they sometimes have oversight of these partner companies.

Another strange question. What are you asking about? It’s not like there is a point of no return, like accepting another offer. Do you want advice on whether you should still hope they will contact you or stop hoping? But this has no real practical meaning. Just keep swimming. I mean, keep sending resumes. If they contact you — good. If not, you won’t regret time wasted.

The question is not whether I should hope or not. The question is whether I should reject another offer just to keep waiting.
No, I would not. You still can go with them later if they finally call. Yes, I understand that in this case you may have to say “no” to the place that just hired you, and that would not be a pleasant experience. But the chances of losing both opportunities if you keep waiting are very real.

whether you wait for their response or forget about them is absolutely irrelevant to the course of action. Why is this so hard to figure out?

Here is your multiple choice:

You stop sending resumes and they do contact you to proceed = you get this job.

You stop sending resumes and never hear from them = you wasted time and possibly missed a good opportunity.

You keep sending resumes and never hear from them = you lose this job but maybe win another opportunity.

You keep sending resumes and they contact you to proceed = you get this job and maybe another opportunity too, so now you actually have a choice.

Is it really that hard to pick the right answer?
omg. I am soo smart whay am I steel looking for a job.... :)

Did they give you the name of the company that is doing the background check? You might be able to contact them to see if there’s a problem verifying some information

They did, idk why I didn't think of that, I'll most definitely try tomorrow!

Hey all! I have an interview with
Deloitte in Regulatory Risk and more precisely in their Investment Management Services team. I would like to know if anyone
knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).
Is it the case here?
Thanks!

I interviewed at Google and cleared all onsite interviews back in July. Then came the hiring freeze and my role was de-prioritized. Now I'm being called for another position which I applied through the same recruiter before for the same group but different role. My question is will Google reuse the positive feedback and will it help/add value to this new position?

Pre bonus and equity I earn 110k/yr in Wash DC.

30% gross is $2750/mo 😱
Others say I can afford 600k houses but that seems irresponsible and ridiculous.
My current rent is $1750 for a small 1bd1ba (cheap) but I’m sacrificing my safety in my neighborhood. No frills apt.
