Looking for some advise on making a career move. I've been in software and telecom sales most of my career, starting at a telco (14 yrs) and then a small independent consulting company (4 yrs). Focus as been in cybersecurity and workplace/IT Modernization (Collaboration Platforms, SD-WAN, etc). I'd like to stay in sales leadership role, but I'm currious if the larger players (Microsft, Cisco, Salesforce, or a large consulting player) hire leaders from outside when not coming from a large firm.

It seems that management doesn’t always understand that employee engagement is tied to many things such as work/life balance, benefits, workload, etc. Any ideas on how to present this type of info to management? We have already done an engagement survey and delivered results but there is lack of action planning which is also not heavily backed up by leadership.
