In my experience it was usually same or next day. In once case it was a bit longer.
Yes. Usually same day. Reach out to them.
In the current job I am at, I was verbally given the offer and received my offer letter 48 hours later.
Up to 48 hours depending on when the verbal offer was extended and by who. Ive had verbal offers extended by a recruiter and received the written within an hour or within 24 hours however my recent offer was extended to me by the hiring manager on a Friday and she had to wait until the recruiter was available to provide the written offer which was Wednesday the following week. Also it is important to note that if there was any negotiation such as pay or addition benefits depending on who the hiring manager is they may need to get additional approval from a higher up for the new terms that you have agreed to extending the written offer. Even if they were quick to approve the terms or the terms are doable they would still need written approval from someone like the head of HR or VP of HR but your recruiter should be keeping you updated on the process. Hopefully that makes sense. If it gets to a week and you haven’t received your written offer or after 48 hours and you have received an update from your recruiter then I would suggest reaching out.
It could mean a number of things. In my currently role I initial interviewed for a role support three particular managers but one manager liked me more then the others and she represented a whole group including the other two directors that I would support that were not included in the interview process so I had to wait two weeks for my written offer because they decided to split the role into two separate roles. I took the role for the one manager that really wanted me and then my colleague got the role for the other two managers. So it really just depends but again the recruiter should be providing that information to you.
So I did get a email from HR:
“I apologize for the delayed reply. I did receive your email. We’ve have encountered some internal adjustments that have caused a slowdown in the hiring process for the receptionist role. I was hoping to be able to provide a status update, but I am awaiting a response on a couple of moving parts. I will keep you informed as soon as I have more information.
Thank you, “
What does this mean? Are they not going to hiring me?
Don’t panic! It sounds like it doesn’t have anything to do with you. Let them work through whatever it is that they need to and hopefully she’ll be able to give you an update in a reasonable amount of time. Even if whatever is going on with them does result in them not following through on the offer, just remember it doesn’t have anything to do with you other than you were the one they lost because of it. 😞
