nope! you deserve to get paid a proper amount.
No. Accept a low offer once and they’ll keep doing it. Did you at least explain your reasoning and/or try to negotiate?
But clearly they were not so shocked that they offered you more money. Funny how people are shocked that THEIR money saving solution didn’t match with your expectations.
They will now have to either recruit or train someone else to take the ‘promotion’.
You did the right thing for yourself however whether in the long run you will need to move job to get the next level promotion remains to be seen. Depends how personally they have taken your refusal and whether they are willing to up the salary to match your expectations.
Did you get a title bump? I’d accept and start looking for another job. Leadership at your current employer have shown they know you’re performing at higher level but they don’t want to pay you for it. Use the higher responsibility to get yourself a better job somewhere else.
I'm thinking through the same decision. I'm in an interim lead role with promise of salary and title bump at year end. Unfortunately I'm already doing the work. Not sure what the salary bump will be and if it'll be enough for me to stick with it. Did you know that this promo was coming? Did you have a chance to negotiate the salary?
