I remember having United Healthcare some time ago and it was excellent health insurance. I’ve had different Cigna plans, which wasn’t so great. Even State Farm, which was a bit weird. Which insurance have you had that was the best and what was the worst?

The best insurance I’ve ever had was BCBS. It was a great plan that covered almost everything, with very little out-of-pocket expense aside from the premiums. I have Ambetter now—it’s not terrible, but it’s definitely not as good.

Never actually heard of Ambetter 🤔

Best was being on my wife's insurance when she worked in a hospital and got coverage through it. Worst was easily Geico. They raised my price like three times in a two year period even though I didn't get a single ticket during that time. "It's because you live in Florida." Great. Switched to Progressive and cut my rates in half.

I never knew they had health insurance. Same with when I had State Farm, never knew they offered health insurance being that they’re known for auto and renter’s insurance

I really liked Kaiser (I’m in California) because everything is done at the same place.

That sounds very convenient!

United was solid when I had it too. Cigna has been hit or miss depending on the plan, and State Farm health always felt oddly clunky. A lot comes down to network access more than the brand itself. Curious what others have experienced recently.

Hi everyone! I am working with my HR to improve our maternity/paternity leave policy. Currently I only get 2 weeks fully paid and then an additional 8-12 weeks at 60% pay (short term disability). I need some examples of companies with less than 100 employees and what your maternity/paternity policy is. Please include company name! Thanks!!!

Pretty decent year-end rem adjustments at EY. How’s it looking at the other firms?

Do you pay out of pocket on insurance premiums at your firm? My wife may leave her job to stay home and we’re on her insurance. My firm told me we’re $750/pay period or $18k/yr. that sounds absurd.

I am trying to move from finance (IB tech) to fintech and have 15+ years of experience. I get a feeling my number of years of experience is working against me as all the companies want is young blood. Am I right in thinking this - what can I do to fix it other than reverse aging :-) ?
