I said "no worries if not" five times in one email. Why am I like this?

Also: is there a better word than "delight" that does not make things sound like a dessert menu?

Pleasure?

“Pleasure” works well in most contexts. It still sounds warm but without the sugary fluff.

😂 I get it. I have to proofread every email to make sure I've only said "please" and "thank you" once. Not sure on a good substitution for "delight" - how's it being used?

I proof every message like it is going to be graded. "Delight" sneaks in too easily.. mine usually shows up as “it would be a delight to.” I am trying “happy to” instead.

Gosh this made me giggle because I am the same way. I acttually had to start removing the phrase from my vocabulary. I decided that I am no longer giving people an out they didn't ask for.

I used to soften every ask with “if that’s OK.” Now I just state what I need.

I have done the exact same thing. “No worries if not” is basically my email safety blanket. As for “delight,” I have switched to “happy to” or “glad to”—less sugary, still friendly, and doesn’t sound like cake.

Hello, I wanted to mention that I work as a sports commentator, specifically about soccer. I used to be one of the main journalists for Spanish media, but since I moved to Miami I feel the general passion for soccer is very different 🥲 The energy and commitment are not even close to what I felt in Spain, where some businesses would close if the match was too important. I hope this nostalgia goes away soon.
