I saw a customer walk in so swiftly, like he had a purpose, and then struck up a conversation with me that lasted 1.5 hours. Remembering that he walked in with such urgency, I'd keep trying to cut the conversation down but he kept going. Sometimes people just want someone to talk to and be heard, and I guess I'm glad my job allows me to be there for such people. Has this happened to you?

Advice: my firm incentivized associates to get licensed in fed courts - 4 fed courts for a 5k raise. They also covered the admission fee. I just accepted an offer with another firm and will be putting in my 2 weeks notice tomorrow. Is it wrong to submit an expense report for the charges I incurred related to the fed court admission fees? I didn’t plan on moving to another firm; the new firm sought me out and made me an offer - the process happened so fast. I want to be professional about this.

Once when I was waiting tables, I had a guy pay me cash. The change was 45 cents, which I didn't give back to him because like who wants that. He then asked where the change was, and when I explained that I didn't give back the loose change, he made a big stink about how dollars and cents matter and didn't leave me a tip. He was a republican staffer on capitol hill.
