That’s the general rule but confirm with HR. Also you used to have 90 day look back to apply for Cobra so get all check ups and tests done in December and then if you got a job March 1 you could go without coverage three months and save money but if you needed care you could retro into Cobra.
Most organizations go by the end of the month rule, so it's likely that's how it will work out. You should really check with the company, just to make sure. Some smaller outfits may terminate benefits on the last work day. Definitely check with HR and also ask about the COBRA package.
I believe so but I would probably check with HR to verify. Not every company does it the same way. I would hate to give you any false information.
