I spent entirely too many years giving this job my time, attention, and frankly, by the end, it felt like I’d sold my soul to the highest bidder just to validate using my education and “making a difference.” What that difference is now? I truly don’t know. Did I ever make a difference? I thought I did at one point, but once the agency began to evolve and change just for the sake of change, not discernible progress with proven positive results, I knew that any good had been undone.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
