This happens to me too. Taking a restroom break and running cold water on the inside of my wrists helps me to calm down and regulate my response.
Before you enter these meetings, try to visualize yourself taking a deep breath and successfully keeping your emotions under control while listening to something stressful.
When you’re in the meetings and you feel the emotions coming, trying to take a deep breath, hold it for a few seconds, and let it go.
Oof that's me too, and now I work from home! I can keep my voice pretty steady on a call if I get hit by emotions but the tears still flow. Breathing techniques etc help but require practice.
I try to remind myself that some men yell and swear when they get emotional, my emotions happen to leak out my eyes but it doesn't necessarily mean I'm thrown off my game 🤷♀️
I feel this so much!! On a separate note, if you date men - do they all yell and swear? It is a red flag when you’re in the same boat as the poster but your partner tends to yell when angry?
I am that way too. Someone said therapy and it’s not a bad idea. Through my therapy I realized that emotions get stronger the more you try to suppress, deny, or ignore them. For me, I realized strong reactions might be a culmination of smaller frustrations that I didn’t have time or didn’t take the time to deal with. Prioritize taking care of your needs and giving yourself compassion.
It’s unfortunate we live in a society/ work in a profession where we feel we cannot experience these emotions without shame and ridicule. There’s nothing wrong with you. Id try just owning it as something that happens sometimes and letting them know you’ll be okay.
F this also happens to me

FTR- the quote that I posted that was apparently removed bc it was flagged as a safety concern is a quote by the Marquise de Merteuil (the amazing, especially in this role, Glenn Close) in the movie Dangerous Liaisons. The full quote is below. I commented it as a joke and attributed the speaker, so was hoping others would recognize it. My apologies to whomever was offended.
"I practiced detachment. I learned how to look cheerful while, under the table, I stuck a fork into the back of my hand. I became a virtuoso of deceit. It wasn't pleasure I was after, it was knowledge... And in the end, I distilled everything to one wonderfully simple principle: win or die."
Women crying at work really bothers me. It comes across as an attempt to manipulate for leniency. And it looks so weak. There must be some kind of technique that can help you stop it. It has to be affecting your reputation. I would do whatever I could to manage it. Have you listened to jocko willink or David Goggins?

This happens to me too. One time after a partner finished getting on me, the tears started flowing and she was like what are you crying for?!
