I used to feel ambitious, now I just feel numb. I’m not burnt out in the obvious way. I’m still meeting deadlines, showing up, but there’s no spark. I’m not even sure what I want anymore. Have you ever hit this kind of professional plateau? What helped you get unstuck?

This is how I’ve been feeling for roughly the last 6 months and I noticed it was a major problem when I took a week long vacation and came back to the office feeling the exact same way I left it just completely unmotivated, unappreciated and like I need a change. The only thing that has helped me is knowing there’s a light at the end of the tunnel because I accepted a new job and Will making the transition in a few short weeks

I love this for you - and ME….. you just gave me a little hope.

I’ve learned that a job is a job, and the spark you reference I can satisfy during my off time. I do not seek satisfaction from my job anymore; just want to be content and not super stressed. I work my 9-5 in-house job that provides zero excitement, is boring, and robotic at times, and then log off and do things that I enjoy.

I want the in-house life.

Truth is, we’re built up our whole lives to “make a difference” or do something huge. Then 3 years into practice we realize we’re just moving the ball a few inches down the line. Most jobs we won’t make a massive difference. Another rounding numbers to a corporation.

Find meaning elsewhere. Church. Family. Hobbies.

You won’t get it helping some random company go public.

Don’t have any advice but have been feeling the same way lately. I think part of the problem is that I don’t have a hobby or anything else that gives me purpose or something to look forward to. I made a therapy appointment to see if I can work it out. Sadly im the breadwinner in my family so don’t have much flexibility. Best of luck to you!

Considering the whoop 4 is seriously backordered, what does everyone think of the Apple watch 7 coming out?

I want to get out of ID so badly. I don’t mind the work but the hours are just killing me. I just started at a new firm less than 6 months ago and I am already desperate to get out. It is not the firm or the people. I just hate the high billables. I have been applying to other jobs but I think I may need a recruiter for help. Any recommendation for a great recruiter in NYC?

I recently had a specialist partner send me a fairly nasty email after I (a transactional first year) was told to ask them to review something ASAP that had clearly been on my partner’s radar for over a week.
