Well I learned my lesson. Never work with Wells Fargo. Any good banks I should switch to?

Schwab. No account fees. No minimums. No ATM fees. North America-based customer service. Hood interface.

I’m a big fan of Alliant Credit Union.

First Republic and City National Bank are both great.

They had this tailored student loan refinancing program which was one of the best. Plus- their ads target HENRYS - high earning not rich yet: lawyers, doctors, young entrepreneurs

like

USAA if you have a military connection.

Schwab for sure. The best bank. Amazing customer service with intelligent reps. Zero atm fees, ever.

Is anyone’s school system taking any of the lessons learned since last March about education and changing how they do business? Our county is reverting to the pre-pandemic factory model of education. I thought we might have some significant changes in education, but sadly it is business as usual- 7 classes of 25-35 students a day.

I teach in a high school that doesn’t tell us what we are teaching until a couple of weeks before school starts ( not talking about schedule, I mean the actual classes). We start in three weeks. I would spend an hour or two each day beginning August 1st getting things organized, revising, and adding to my lessons. My teacher friends from other districts seem surprised that we are not informed yet. My previous school told us in May. How many of you don’t know what classes you are teaching yet?

At a neighborhood gathering, a large group of people were bemoaning the ills of the world and someone piped up with how much they hate how schools indoctrinate their children. I ALMOST asked which of my classes she had visited and where in the lesson I had indoctrinated her children. I don’t actually teach her children and she hasn’t been in class since high school but... Grrrrrrr. Does anyone have a good strategy for speaking up about this? Or some nice, calming mental affirmations? 😉
