My flatmate got job opportunity at TCS with 4 years of experience with package 15lpa, he showed his offer letter to me. He passed out from same college and done b.tech only then worked at IBM then switch. I am earning less than 1/3 of his package. Lesson: don't be loyal to your company, never.
Do we need a lesson about responding to a thread on the thread instead of starting a new thread with a response?
I have a first grader who has a 2 sec attention span. I have to use a scripted ELA curriculum with lots of talk but not much writing. She NEEDS to do something focused on the lesson. Any ideas? TIA
I'm beginning to think the moral panic about CRT isn't about CRT.... dropping MLKs "I have a dream" and Susan B. Anthony 🤔 https://news.bloomberglaw.com/social-justice/texas-senate-votes-to-remove-required-lessons-on-civil-rights
Drinking seems to be built into big law atmosphere/ central to networking. Any tips or lessons learned?
Teacher Autonomy: Have you ever felt peer pressured by your colleagues to teach lessons a certain way? All year 1 teacher on my team made it seem like there was only her way to teach a topic.
Is anyone’s school system taking any of the lessons learned since last March about education and changing how they do business? Our county is reverting to the pre-pandemic factory model of education. I thought we might have some significant changes in education, but sadly it is business as usual- 7 classes of 25-35 students a day.
I teach in a high school that doesn’t tell us what we are teaching until a couple of weeks before school starts ( not talking about schedule, I mean the actual classes). We start in three weeks. I would spend an hour or two each day beginning August 1st getting things organized, revising, and adding to my lessons. My teacher friends from other districts seem surprised that we are not informed yet. My previous school told us in May. How many of you don’t know what classes you are teaching yet?
What are key lessons learned from your first home-buying experience? Looking to start investing in real estate on the side.
At a neighborhood gathering, a large group of people were bemoaning the ills of the world and someone piped up with how much they hate how schools indoctrinate their children. I ALMOST asked which of my classes she had visited and where in the lesson I had indoctrinated her children. I don’t actually teach her children and she hasn’t been in class since high school but... Grrrrrrr. Does anyone have a good strategy for speaking up about this? Or some nice, calming mental affirmations? 😉

What’s one hobby you’d want to pursue if you had more time? I’ll start: I want to take vocal lessons to become a better singer
SO and I are finally tying the knot this spring. I'm honestly shit scared about our 'first dance.' What should I do?? Private lessons? Get drunk and make a complete ass of myself?
Just filed a formal complaint with HR about my boss bullying me... am not hopeful, but curious to see where it leads. Lesson to everyone: always build up a reserve of FU money in the bank!
At Deloitte can you have negative PTO hours? Trying to understand policy because I heard it’s different from firm to firm
I just went to the bathroom in the United club lounge before heading to my gate. There was a lady at the sink completely topless boobs all out all over the place and I think she was trying to take a half sponge bath in the sink, like taking wet paper towels and wiping her arm pits. Also no mask on. This is weird, right?
We are going through and revamping some of our job descriptions and titles. We have a role that is mostly administrative support for our shipping department - printing labels, scheduling shipments, creating paperwork, correcting errors on invoices, etc. Any suggestions for a job title? This person spends most their time in the office.
Anyone in the Deloitte Salesforce practice interested in referring me? I have dev and BA experience with 3 years of SF and not sure how else to go about applying
Taking a 4 month old on a cross country flight (NYC - SFO) Any tips on flight prep/time change/feeding times etc? Should I apologize in advance to other passengers?
In middle market TAS, but considering a jump up to Big 4. Is the name on resume worth the 75+ hours a week.
“If I said / did / acted the way the client just did, I’d probably get fired for it.” - Me, multiple times each day 💭
PHR or SHRM? I am looking to get more certifications related to HR vs recruiting, but I am unsure on which one is "better" or will help me grow into more of a strategic HR role. Help!!!
Can someone explain the difference between being counseled out and being fired? With an emphasis on why counsel someone out but not fire them, and vice versa.
I have worked in the HR space for the past 9 years, however most of my experience has been in Talent Acquisition. I do want to move into a People Operations/Generalist role. I’m planning to go for a HR certificate but unsure if I should go for a PHR or SHRM. Please advise!
Do partners of color actually give you work? There’s only a handful in my office and they are nice to me, even are candid about how white upper management is. But they’ve never thrown any work my way or even gotten to know me on a real professional level which is frustrating because they purport to support diversity initiatives, etc. and I’ve definitely tried to open a line of communication with each of them.
Is it worth pursuing the Specialist consultant track at McKinsey? A recruiter reached out to me regarding a role in healthcare. Currently have 5 YOE, no MBA, am a SC at D.
MD2......4 years until vested, a little more than 6 until I can comfortably retire. Love working with clients and practitioners, but SO tired of the politics/ego game. Is going internal an option?
Currently doing PMO work on an interesting project. I want to get an MBA from a top 10 school. What type of project work should I look for next? Strategy?
SM on my project has been making some racially insensitive comments lately (not major, just some slight things that make me uncomfortable). Do I confront them or let it slide? Don’t want repercussions
