Part of the problem is that AI has become the latest buzzword. People feel they have to talk about it. And the management types who are telling people to leverage AI probably have no idea how it works or what it can do. I've used Gemini (Google's AI) for some brainstorming exercises, and it's interesting. But that's about the extent of its usefulness for me in my work. I'd feel ridiculous using it to write something, that's just an admission of incompetence. And by the time I prompted it to write something worthwhile, and I fact check and edit what it produces, I could have just written it myself.

Thanks so much for your insights. I will try Gemini for brainstorming. That’s more than I have been doing. Thanks again!
I've used Chat GPT, Gemini, and Claude previously. I've mostly focused on using them to button up copy, but there are obviously tons of other use cases where AI can streamline your workflow. I've found it very helpful for mindmapping - basically throwing a complex question or scenario into my tool of choice and having it spit out a roadmap of what I should start chipping away at first, how to organize it all, which tools to lean on, etc. Next time you have something come up at work, throw the specifics into Chat GPT and ask it for the most efficient way to go about handling it and how it could help you reach the finish line faster. You'll be amazed at how sophisticated it's gotten in the past few years. Also, don't worry AT ALL about being seen as "cheating" - if they had any problem with you using AI, they wouldn't tell you to in the first place!

Thanks!
