You don’t need to be a manager for your green card process to start. Make sure you check with your V&I consultant!

you can definitely start your GC now . you dont need to be a manager to start & complete till i140. You may need to be promoted when they do actual adjustment of status i485 which is much later in the process.

I started my GC as a senior during my 2nd year of H1B. It took me 2 years to get my i140 approved (through premium processing). They filed my app as a manager. I’m beginning to think you may be running out of time since you just have 1 year left before your h1 max

GC process can start for any role. It can start from abroad too. It can be started by a prospective employer too
