My dog is not tolerant to many foods, and it is really hard to have to deal with people who want to give him those foods without knowing the harm it causes him.
I have received many people with these types of problems, once a Doberman arrived with very strong allergy problems, all because the girl next door gave him dog treats without knowing that he was allergic.
It's a question of culture because you don't understand that it's a nice gesture to give something to someone's pet, but it's always necessary to ask.
I recently traveled to Spain and the person who was going to receive me, my friend from high school, has a Golden Retriever. Before I went, I asked him if I could bring him some strips of meat from DogShow, he told me that there was no problem, when I arrived The first thing I did was give them to the country almost immediately, the dog had an allergic reaction, I treated him quickly and then we compared what the treat contained in the USA with what the same treat contained in Spain, it turns out that the one I brought had almost the same twice as many components, that's why it was the problem, I was very sorry.
Exactly, you always have to ask, a dog or cat or any domestic animal is like having a small child, surely what you offer this pet will eat it so ask first to see if instead of causing joy you are causing a problem
There are many breeds of pets that are very delicate, and others are simply that the animal is delicate to many types of food, we must create a culture in which the people who give gifts must ask and educate the owners to also say no when something falls on them bad for your pets.
Once I went to a dog's birthday and in the invitation letter they included the things to which the birthday dog was allergic, I think this person had already experienced unexpected allergies, it seemed somewhat exaggerated but after a while receiving animals poisoned by "gifts" from other people understood everything, that person was a genius.
