I am a veterinary technician, and on occasion, I have seen an animal be very mean to another of the same species, I have come to think that this is thanks to the breeding of humans.
Although being evil is a human condition, it is possible that animals can copy human behaviors to the letter, i.e. if they are bred to be evil, they can certainly be evil.
I do not share your unpopular comment, as a veterinarian with extensive experience treating all types of animals, I can safely say that animals cannot be evil, much of their behavior goes hand in hand with instinct whether it is survival, protective or defensive. It all depends on the situation.
I am an animal psychologist, I argue that the behavior of domestic animals goes hand in hand with breeding and the behavior of wild animals is closely related to instinct.
