How important is the prestige of the university where you do your undergrad?

Very important, although many say it is not, it is really taken into account at the moment of getting a job and keeping clients.

I do not understand those people who focus more on the prestige of the university than on doing their job well, it is something that should be analyzed very well.

For me, the prestige of the university is important. I want to attend a school that is respected and known for its great programs. I believe this will give me a better chance of succeeding after graduation.

A person's undergraduate institution is not nearly as important as their postgraduate institution. A person's undergraduate institution is only a stepping stone to their postgraduate institution.

The prestige of the university where you do your undergrad is not important at all. It's what you do with your degree that matters, not where you got it.

Hi I have asked to be an advisor for a startup. Its in its very early stage pre pre-seed. Its looking like weekly strategy calls and possibly some executional work as well. Like building out a sales process and/or training sales and marketing team members (this might be 1-3hr a week of work).

They are offering 1.5-3.5%. — I am wondering if that’s enough.

In addition to this the founder mentioned that he would like me to consider becoming a co-founder.

Anyone have any thoughts on a fair salary for a part time virtual tax prep-focused position? I’ve been made an offer for south of 800 hours/year (fluctuating for seasonal ebb and flow, of course), and I’m curious whether it’s a decent offer or not. I have 13 years of experience in a big box franchise where I’ve handled complex returns from day 1. 30% of my workload has been 1120/1120S/1065 and the rest higher-level 1040s and a few 1041s & 990s. I’ll be bringing 75-100 clients with me.
