I work as a Financial Analyst for a Mortgage Originator and Servicer. I am trying to make a move to FP&A (preferably tech) as my interest lies there. I know that the responsibilities are different and I am willing to learn. Any advice on how to make my application more competitive while applying? I have networked before with people in FP&A but was not able to get an offer so went for the job I am in currently.

When you’re applying to jobs or sending your portfolio to folks, is there a good way to ask for more specific, actionable feedback? I’ve had a few people say they really liked my spec work, but without specifics I don’t know which areas to improve or which elements to double down on. Is there a way to loop back and ask for someone to elaborate on their feedback or do you just move on and hope the next person goes more in-depth?

Got a job offer but the pay base is only 5% more than what I make. I’ll be promoted in a few months so I could be possibly making more at my current job.
