How do you really make money in project management? For instance is tech pm more lucrative than financial services pm? Or is this a path to like product management/strategy fields... new PM here trying to understand career paths :)

We had a final assignment where I had to write up a business charter including time, scope, budget. Also created a WBS and Gantt chart. I’m looking to pivot from Finance to Proj Mgmt and currently working through the Google course in order to sit for the CAPM. My only PM experience comes from stepping in on accounts I manage, where there is no PM presence. That means, most of those tasks were related to the budget and scoping, not necessarily execution. Is this enough to land a PM role?
