It’s tough for sure. But of course jumping ship without an offer in had wouldn’t be a good idea.
What is their stance? Pro or against? I think that leaving a company over social / political issues happens all the time, one can realise that there is a disconnection between the ways of working and strategy of the company only by working in it sometimes so I think it happens more often than not.
Do you feel like the broader stance is commonplace for most companies? It would seem to me that it’s a lot easier to work for a place that has generally similar values and views, but that might not be easy to get, depending on what yours are.
I would love to know their stance as well. I don't know that I would leave for that reason, but it depends on how passionately I felt about the issue. I will say, I would try to find a job before you leave. The job market is really rough right now.

My current company is making a huge play on AI as well. They've bought licenses and brought in AI consultants. The funny thing is that when Opus 4.6 dropped, it pretty much made whatever the consultants were building sort of pointless. Specifically large context windows and long running chats, skils, and industry standards.
