I work in insurance defense and our clients don’t like to pay for research. I have been told to get creative with what I classify the matter as instead of calling is “researched X for 2.6 hours.” I feel like I spend 40% of the time researching so I really need to figure this out.

What could I put down instead of research

Went on Vacation and company owner freaked out that I’m away when there are some important deals going on. Ironically hes away this week too. Theres not much going on for me to do while away just some minor follow ups, but has anyone ever experienced this before? Howd you handle? I think hes just being ridiculous but was it wrong of me to go away? This trip had been planned for a while. Just have anxiety now.

I didn't apply for a job that would have set me up for the future in the government. I wouldn't have to worry about money or future jobs. My boss had just given me a small pay rise and talked up the future and so I felt good. I now severely regret not applying for the job and cannot stop thinking about it to the point of insomnia and depression. I even contacted the employer but too late. It's a small town and rarely anything comes up. I hate myself and feel like I failed my family. :(
