I would like to run a less frustrating legal practice. Instead of carefully explaining the law to clients, I will instead hit them with a stick whenever they are about to do something stupid.

This is not the relief it seems. There are too many clients to hit them as often as they need. Plus your arm gets sore surprisingly quickly.

Weekend thought as many of us watch our portfolios bleed away value as the market hit all time highs: stick with it. This is a very difficult time in the market so try to figure out what’s not working and fix it. Stick with your process while trying to improve it. Advice Request: Started my career litigating. Switched to niche transactions (so about half and half at this point). Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
