I totally agree with the comment. Managers just does not want to deal with their individual employees for any reasons whether it’s increases or just general issues they sent everyone to HR.
True professionals do not discuss salaries. Your salary is as good as your negotiating skills.
True professionals discuss salaries precisely because they know silence protects inequity. Negotiation isn’t a gladiator match—it’s a system test. If your pay depends on how well you play the game, the game’s rigged. Transparency isn’t rebellion; it’s maintenance.
Totally get this. HR can guide the process, explain policies, and help ensure fairness, but compensation decisions usually sit with leadership and managers. It’s frustrating when HR becomes the “messenger” for decisions we didn’t actually make.
