So.. what ? You think we shouldn’t say “ good dog” anymore. I have to say it , can’t even help it .
You really could’ve left out the “Pitbull” and kept this general. Please don’t start insinuating or spreading breed bias in this bowl. Speaking in absolutes really helps no one here and the undertones of this post are off putting. Credit for positive or negative engagement falls to both the owners and the dog(s). Level-headed people, and especially those who have owned dogs for many years, know this and will share the sentiment. Typically it is case-by-case scenarios and outsiders who spur the extremes you pose.
Dogs, like humans, are individual beings and all have freedom of choice at the end of the day, including animals. Yes, actions and outcomes can be a reflection of upbringing and parenting, but it’s not an all or nothing.
Agreed. Many years ago after an incident of some kind the President of the Doberman's AKC group brought twelve doberman puppies on leashes to the Johnny Carson show. They were so adorable. Before JC realised what was about to happen, the man let go of the leashes and the puppies ran to people in the audience, who picked them up and loved on them. He was making this point. Dogs are what the owners force upon them.
