They should not ask this question at all if you are retired from your real job period. 😊. I guess you could say that you want to learn modern tools relevant to the role and stay competitive and confident.
Do you get that question a lot? I actually never get that question, weirdly enough. But if I did, I would just tell them that my long-term goal is to keep growing, learning, and working hard.

Three times I was phoned for a seasonal job I was more than qualified for. I return the call, get the interview thinking it was just for the holiday season only to be thanked when there, for "making the decision easier for me' when I said I'm here for a seasonal position only to then be told they are looking to keep people on after the holidays. If someone sees you are the age you are, even if you don't look it & ask a stupid question like that , consider that as I hadn't , ask instead of them what are you specifically looking for then tailor your answer to that. I'm more forthright yet look where it got me, not getting the job and answering posts here (-_-).
