How should an independent consultant go about joining a firm? I was recruited boutique firm (only subcontractors) which paid well and allowed me to build a small external client base. The firm went bankrupt and I’m struggling expand client base without a strong brand. 2 YoE in Growth Strategy and Organizational Development.

Does anyone know where to get some of top consulting books used or low cost (physical copies)? Stuff like the 4S method, pyramid principle and McKinsey way comes to mind, but would like to get copies at a lower cost if possible.

I am starting a new role with a new company and will have 6 direct reports. Although I have managed teams before in a consulting project setting, this will be the first time in industry. Any recommendations on how to sharpen my management skills (books, blogs, etc). Particularly looking at how to delegate effectively and practical examples on how to run day to day.

I am signing an offer this week at a different consulting firm, but want to stick it out through my project at my current firm over the next month. (Actually really enjoy the project just think the other firm is a better fit).

Am I obligated (morally or otherwise) to tell my firm that I’ve signed another offer? Or is it ok to stay on and work?
