Hi All,
Persistent Systems is giving 10% variable on gross annual CTC. HR says you would receive minimum 70% of variable pay every month and remaining 30% will credited once a year at the end.
Does anyone has idea on this? Can I believe this and include 70% variable in my take home

Just go in knowing the status of your case discovery wise, and what is outstanding. It usually is a very basic conference unless you are fighting over something with your adversary
Yes definitely don’t say that. I’ve seen judges tear into associates for something like that. If you are there to represent the client, you are accountable for providing a full status update as the managing attorney for the case would provide.
Don’t forget business cards and write the case # and who you represent. Arrive a few minutes early and when the clerk roll calls, give her the business card.
It’s just a check in on the case. If anything you don’t know, just say you’re filling in and you’ll have to check. Easy peazy you’ll be fine!!!
OP do not listen to this. “Just filling in” is not acceptable.
Be prepared. Learn about the case and what is going on at the moment. Judges hate when people who don't know anything show up (ours now specifically direct that someone with knowledge must appear). Read the pleadings, recent correspondence, see if there are any ongoing disputes between counsel, where is discovery, any disputes there, upcoming schedule, etc.
I second this and add: talk to the partner and find out what he/she hopes to achieve during the conference as far as scheduling, persuading the court to rule on pending motions, etc. Then develop a plan for raising those issues during the conference.
Don’t call the judge “Mom”
Review the file, flag any questions and discuss with the partner, know the status re: discovery, ask the partner if there is anything in particular to be discussed. Also, ask said partner about the Judge or Clerk presiding over the conference, and the other attorneys involved. If it is in person, plan how much time it will take to get there, consider traffic, parking and other logistics. Knowledge is power! Preparation is imperative
How did it go?
