Are marreid people more happy to WFH?
McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!
If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Is this a trick question? Monday and Friday at home. Also known as the 4-day weekend schedule.
No trick— if I can do M/F I will, but some companies don’t allow it
That varies wildly. Depends on if you have kids, if you like to travel, your own preferences… I like Monday’s and Friday’s because you get 4 days straight of not being in the office which is perfect for travel. You can also fly back on Monday night instead of Sunday night, and Monday night flights are usually much cheaper than Sunday night flights. Some people prefer to space it out so they have a break in between. I’m remote M,W,F
Which state is that? I need to be in a similar position but I’m freaking out about my firm hassling me about business taxes, what was generated in this state vs. that state, where am I a resident for withholding etc.
I prefer Thursday and Friday at home

Same. Because no one else comes in on Mondays, it gives me a solid in-office day with no distractions, then two days of facetime.
Saturday and Sunday.
I hear you. I just accepted a job that allows 2 days WFH, which I’ve never had before
In office Tuesday through Thursday, remote Monday and Friday.
Was doing M-W but was totally wiped out the rest of the week. Commuting is of the Devil. I am trying M-W-F — Friday because there is hardly anyone there, which I like.
My company allows two days WFH but they can’t be consecutive (including F/M). I choose W/F. Staying home Friday let’s me have a “long weekend” or get started on weekend travel a day early. And staying home Wednesday makes getting through Thursday feel like a breeze since it’s only one day. And I can get a good chunk of stuff done/client face time on Monday and Tuesday then when I’m energized for the week.
I usually will WFH either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, and almost always Friday. But it also depends on whether I have my kids that week (split custody) and whether I have a trial or first return at the courthouse local to me. Traffic here is ALWAYS terrible Tuesday through Thursday, so that’s another consideration.
It varies wildly by office, particular practice area needs, schedules, etc.
All else the same, Fridays are almost always favored and tend to be the trend these days.
I tried Tu/Th at first and realized going home/office/home interrupted my work flow and switched to Tu/Wed. It’s nice to have the days in a row at the office to not drag stuff back and forth or to get a larger project done.
