My current job is honestly the best job I’ve ever had - but it requires a lot of overtime and I have a toddler. 20-something me would have no problem but 40-something me just wants to be done when office hours close so I can be with my family without having to go back to work the second my baby goes to bed.
I'm happy with where I am right now, so I'm not looking for a new role at the moment. I started my current role a little over a year ago and have really enjoyed it, so I haven't even thought about leaving yet. I'm sure in another year or two I may start to think about what my next move should be to make sure that I'm always advancing my career and challenging myself.
Comforting to know not everyone has an "end all be all" mentality no matter where they are professionally.
I graduated about a year ago and I am still looking for new role in Los Angeles area.
I am unfulfilled at my current firm & desperately looking for something hybrid in Portland, OR or remote. Doesn’t seem like many people are hiring at my level in Portland right now though which is unfortunate. I am at the point where I think I’ll be sending my resume and portfolio to firms I like and hoping to hear back because it seems there are almost no job openings.
Shoot your shot no matter what. I also am a huge advocate for hybrid/remote work but from my experience, it's a needle in a haystack with architectural firms. I'm glad it's becoming more common now though. Good luck!
BhThe professional status of team members on an architectural project can vary. Some may be happy and settled in their current position, while others may be looking for new opportunities. Determining the exact status requires direct communication with team members.
If you are an architectural project manager, it is useful to organize a small meeting or survey to get a clear understanding of the current status of each individual on your team. This will help you identify areas that may need additional support or see if there are people who are considering moving on from the company.
If you are looking for opportunities to improve job satisfaction or future employment, you could also offer training or professional development programs, or listen to the needs and aspirations of your team to ensure they remain happy and motivated in their roles.
I am looking for job right now, i am a recently graduated with a masters degree here in san Francisco and being part of a firm its been very hard to get.
Recently graduated with a Masters degree and also have multiple internship experiences. Can't seem to get hired at all. I was also nominated to receive the Henry Adams medal in school, so I have a pretty good portfolio and skills and also worked really hard in school. I don't what I'm doing wrong, but super unhappy to answer your question.
I have been unemployed since the end of April and searching for a new position. 51 applications so far and not 1 interview. All job applications were for positions in my field for which I am qualified.
Are you looking to work remote or in office?
I have gained 18 years experience in LA and Shanghai China, now its tough for me to relocate back to States. I feel my experience can contribute a lot to the positions posted, or can easy to adapt back to the US market. But I have been sending many resume, only two interviews and many rejects. I wonder there must be so many people out there to look for a job. Is there any advice so can help me to get a job more quickly ? Thank you people!
