Which one to choose between Optum and Tiger Analytics for Data Scientist position? Where can I expect better data science domain expertise (In my previous companies I found very less understanding of Data Science practices as team)? Heared good things about both of these. Also hearing Tiger is expanding rapidly and getting some crap projects as well in the name of data science. Could someone put light on these things?

It’s a risk, because full time is full time, but temp-to-full time means perhaps they’re not sure about you, or they’re not sure about their needs/budget. Not saying it’ll go bad, but it’s a step removed from a full time offer.
And keeping your current full time role may result in you working two full time jobs. I assume they didn’t open this temp to perm role with the intent of only needing someone for 10 hours per week.
That makes sense. A recruiter approached me saying their needs are temp-to-perm, so I’m wondering if it’s budget related even though she had mentioned the temp hourly and FT salary if hired. Thank you, this helps!
At the rate this economy is going, isn’t full-time basically freelance with benefits? One can get laid off at any time 🫤
Facts, nothing is secured because employment is “at will” in the US.
*Also* has anyone kept their full time role while working a temp-to-perm? I’m thinking temp portion is practically freelance but correct me if I’m wrong.
I did it. I did the math; the higher pay would be the same as sticking to my old job plus 6 months of not having to work at all. I figured 6 months was enough time to get a new gig in case the full-time didn’t happen. I got the job, after 11 months of being a temp.
Such good advice thank you!!
