Hi everyone!!! Last year I put together a list of classrooms to exchange valentines with! We mailed 1 valentine to each class and included a picture if we could, and a few things about where we live and things we do!
I currently have 13 classes signed up! The more the merrier!!
We have classes CA, WI, PA, KS, TX, RI, MI, Canada, New Zealand.
I have a form to fill out if you are interested! I will email everyone the list probably at the end of the week if not sooner!

Get those security designations/certificates if you can. Start with the easiest one to get.
I know many people in B4 with that job that don’t have clearance.
Join the army if in Canada:)
Great question to ask potential employers via informational interviews.
Look man I’m going to be pretty honest with you so there's no confusions. Your BS in CS isn't worth diddly in this tech field you barely learned about a wide scope of systems and programs and how to potentially use them in a non real world environment you won’t land a job without certifications or real world experience and if you’re seeking GIAC/GRC type jobs you will need to get a security clearance that will run into the thousands on your own. If you want that type of job join the military and get it or see if your potential employer will be paying for you to get one which I don't see them shelling thousands on a graduate sorry just the truth. If you just want cyber start with the certs first go easiest to hardest set a plan out and start working it while doing the plan apply to every job that will accept entry level and don't waste your time applying to jobs well beyond your scope of experience as you will look bad and could burn a potential job with that employer once you do have that level of experience. Honestly most of your graduating class will never see this degree put to use. Hope this helps you
Don't let these people scare you. Companies like Northrop Grumman will sponsor you to get a clearance. They will have you work in an unclassified area until you obtain it.
That said, there are a lot of people looking for work now that companies have downsized or gone out of business. Heck, my whole company was furloughed last month. I am a senior software engineer and submitted 150 applications and after a month, I am getting my first interview today
Some will sponsor but tbh there’s plenty of vets probably applying for the same position who already have it
I have a Masters in Information Systems Management and a Graduate certification in Data Management for about 7 years but did not get a job because I didn't have a working experience. I now have a Master in Special Education. Is it possible to get a job with my IT background part time. Preferably remote?
I would definitely say get your designations and certificates in the meantime.
While you are there take the courses that give you a Azure/AWS certificate at the end. Most colleges have them nowadays. Target Cloud security. You are currently employed at Oracle, so you have an in for changing jobs inside the company and getting your feet wet before doubling your salary elsewhere. All you need is two to three years of solid experience and job searches become a whole lot easier. Just keep in mind AI is going turn IT jobs topsy turvy in the next decade (like off-shoring did). Keep your fingers in that pie as well.
