I'm expecting my first child in August, so I'll be a working mom. I love what I do, but not sure if I can keep up my current quotas with a baby, too. I'm seriously thinking about transitioning from an Outside Sales role to an Inside Sales position. For those of you who have made this change or have experience in both, which role helped you better manage your family commitments?

Congratulations! That's so exciting! The first baby is always such an incredible time for a new family. I do see what you're saying about transitioning to inside sales, however, I would think that transitioning to an entirely new job while juggling pregnancy and a newborn would be a little bit harder. Unless you feel confident in your ability to pick it up quickly. If you feel like you have a good work-life balance doing outside sales, it might be better to stick with what you know.

I stayed in Outside Sales, but with a very supportive manager and clear boundaries. It can be done, but Inside Sales definitely offers more consistency during those unpredictable early months.

Congratulations!!!
