I’m going to start talking about leadership and how to get it right. Post COVID healthcare has changed and your teams have a new perspective in how leadership should be….i agree with them.

New thinkers are what is needed. Things will never be entirely the same and new methods have to be devised. If another pandemic hits, healthcare has to be ready for it and not waste time scrabbling around looking for solutions to the massive problems encountered during COVID.

Say more when you say new thinkers. What are some pain points you would cite?

Yep, definitely. We need new perspectives on leadership in such a changing work environment.

Agreed. We have to find a way to make sure our team is happy. When the team is happy the whole organization can succeed. An unhappy team will lead to failure. And that failure is most likely due to leadership. I do what what my boss tell me because they have authority over me, but I would never follow them. I have people on my team I would follow without hesitation because I trust them.

I’d be curious to what folks mean when they say they want new perspectives or approaches to leadership. The reason I ask is it could be organization-specific versus any larger trends. Additionally, it’s important to understand what goes into leadership decisions. Now on the flip side, we as leaders have an obligation to be as transparent as possible regarding decisions or even broader issues we’re facing. I’m far from perfect but it is something top of mind.

Hi everybody! 😊
I've been working as a Junior Analog Design Engineer for a year and half.
I received a proposal for a Senior Analog Designer role from Bosch in the same city where I am currently working.
Should I wait and build up a few more years of experience before accepting a Senior role or should I jump in and work to fill the gap?
Next year, there will be an important deadline for the project I'm working on and my resignation could be critical for the team, how would you deal with it?

Hello, I need your advice. I am currently in management in primary care. I have a strong management background in specialty hospital practice management. Recently some leadership positions have become available and I feel as if my leader has discouraged me from applying. His take is that I should take certain steps before applying, however I have the experience from my previous employment in this leadership role. Would I be overstepping to apply anyways ?

I have a new employee that started last Monday, unfortunately it’s not going to work out. Long story, but we’re fairly certain the individual is using Meth and appears to have started/restarted fairly recently. I work with physicians, so it’s a consensus. We have to terminate employment, but what ethical obligation do we have? Two young children at home and no spouse. This is weighing heavily on us.
