For anyone debating whether to go in house, I recently went in house, and the mental health benefit of not having to worry about billable hours is completely worth the switch. Help needed! I am confused between new and old tax regime.
With 26LPA, new regime shows lesser tax given that my HRA exemption is negligible and i have only 80C investment. Is the fuel and comm bills we submit every month get considered under new regime? Also where does the tuition fee for children get considered? The difference is about 13k per year between old and new regime. TIA!

I’m a junior litigation lawyer based in Windsor looking to lateral to corporate big law. I have been doing commercial litigation, tax litigation, and tax planning. I’ve done corporate reorganization, corporate structuring, rollovers so corporate would not be completely new to me. I did a solicitor rotation during articling and was involved with several m&a deals. Has anyone managed to make the jump from litigation in Windsor to Toronto big law corporate?
