I'm in my mid-30s, newly married, and have come to enjoy having structure in my life. When I was single, short-notice trips were okay, but now they're throwing me off. Had to skip a client meeting last week when they needed me there in two days. I felt guilty, but I had stuff I couldn't cancel. Am I messing up my career by not being ready to travel whenever they ask?

Everyone has lives outside work. You’re not on call 24/7 and people need to understand that. Once you start setting boundaries, you’ll notice people will suddenly start to ask you to plan and schedule things in advance. If you have, in the past, been ready to jump whenever asked, they’ll expect the same now. Just train people to treat you the way it makes sense for your life.
That’s a reality for a HUGE percentage of population btw. If all our careers came to a halt because we can’t travel whenever, people with kids would never ‘make it’.

funny

You need to revaluate if your current job fits your personal objectives, it is OK to move to a different job with no travel for example

Fishes,

Does anyone know about the IAAP diploma in IFRS?

IAAP is an awarding body in UK.

My doubt is, does the value of the certificate of IFRS change depending on the Institution?

Will a person who cleared IFRS from IAAP have same value as a person who cleared IFRS from ACCA?

Thanks in advance

Evening! Dog owners who live in condo rentals downtown.. did you tell your landlord you had a dog? I’m in a rental with a lease that says no pets (i’m sure a common clause?) and i didn’t have any pets moving in. 6 months in, i got a puppy lol. I don’t want to invite potential conflict by updating my landlord, my lawyer partner says the no pets clause is void in toronto anyway - but I worry about a bad landlord reference if they find out i.e come for repairs.
