I’m looking for a new job and have an interview with a recruiter at a staffing agency next week. Has anyone had luck finding a permanent position this way? I’m worried they’ll try to push temp roles on me, which I’m not interested in. Just curious if they’re actually helpful for finding solid, long-term jobs.

Depends on how the staffing agency is structured. Sometimes they hire employees that they place in roles and they pay you as an employee and bill the companies you work for. Or I’ve also seen when they place you and clients pay you and they get a cut for filling the roles.

Really depends on what kind of staffing agency it is. But usually when I hear staffing agency I think of you filling short term roles until the companies can hire (or sometimes hire through staffing agencies). But without knowing the details it’s hard to say for sure.

I haven't had good luck with recruiters or staffing agencies. That isn't to say there aren't good ones out there. In this job market, you have to try anything you can to land a role.
