I was just venting about this to a friend. I’ve been unemployed for four months now, and the emotional toll is no joke. I try to stay productive, tailor every application, write thoughtful cover letters… and then silence. Or worse, I get a call that turns out to be some vague commission-only “opportunity” with zero base pay.
I think it's a lot of low-level recruiters and spam, to be honest. That's why I no longer use Indeed or LinkedIn. I either stick with more reputable job boards, or apply directly on the company website when I see something I'm interested in.
Can you share where you are looking, what sites?
Sometimes I feel like there are more low quality listings on job boards vs legit ones. The market is brutal right now but don't give up. Maybe a shift in your strategy will help. Instead of just applying online you can try looking for someone to send a real message to. That way your app isn't just thrown in abyss.
Same...been over a year for me. Very successful previously...RIF happend for entire dept I ran. Nothing since despite all day every day type efforts across various platforms and tactics.
