I’m off this week for the first time in years, and the silence is freaking me out. No pings, no meetings, no metrics to obsess over, and it’s making me realize how deeply I’ve tied my self-worth to work. I hit $140k this year, my highest ever, but it still feels like I’m running on a treadmill I didn’t choose. I don’t want another year of burnout disguised as ambition. How do you reset your relationship with work when the money’s good but the fulfillment’s missing?

Prioritize your outside of work life just as much as you do work. We have scheduled work hours. Make sure to include that same ethic in everything else.

Frame your focus about the relationships you are building and not the day to day work. I’m in the same boat of finally taking some time off and it’s hard to unwind from work. When I worked at JPM years ago, we were forced to take two weeks off every year. It always took that first week to finally be able to forget about work

It might be time to start looking for something else. Sometimes switching roles is what you need to start feeling ambitious again. Might be worth seeing what else is out there.

I’ve been in a similar boat for awhile. I’ve tried to focus more on outside hobbies so I have more fulfillment outside of work. It’s really helped with my mental health!

We were not trying to conceive. And I was drinking alcohol like twice a week.
Now I missed my period and pregnant. I am panicking a lot, not sure if I want a baby right now. Definitely i cant deal with pregnancy constantly knowing how much u drinking could have affected the fetus and if i could ever endure the consequences it would bring upon the baby
Help me understand if my baby will be fine or not.

First time investor in the US. Any suggestions on books / blogs to read to get smart. Where do people typically invest given all the client related policies in place for consulting firms?

Moving from the US to Singapore soon. On a 90k salary, how much should I budget for rent? Ideally I want to live in neighborhoods close to central locations such as Tanjong Pagar, but I’m not sure if it’s possible.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?
