I got hired remote 4 years ago and still work remote. I’ve never been in the office or met any of my coworkers in person ever. We just communicate in Teams and it works for us. I guess it t all depends on what company
What’s the company and where are they located?
Remote jobs do still exist, but they are incredibly rare and very competitive. If it feels like you got an easy offer, it is almost guaranteed to be a scam. And yeah, some companies are doing the bait and switch by offering remote jobs and then turning them into office jobs. It is an unavoidable risk.

Unfortunately, this does happen where they advertise roles as “remote” but later change expectations to hybrid or in-office once you’re hired. To protect yourself, confirm the remote status in writing in the offer letter, ask whether the role is “fully remote” or “remote for now." If you get this confirmation, I've seen companies where they honor it because they've already mentioned it to you.
