I am in a similar situation. I took a break to travel and now its almost a year since I was laid off. Every interview people ask why I had a big gap. Why visit even surprising to companies, with layoffs every year every 6 months. To be successful need warm referrals, cold emailing isn't working. Do a lot of networking, intros, coffee chats. Post a lot on LinkedIn for visibility. Do some extra projects or decks send it to companies to impress them for a chance of an interview
Hit up your network. In my experience bulk anonymous (no network connection) job applying goes into the ether. Find someone who can vouch for you just to get your foot in the door for a quick “chat” even if there’s no active opportunity. Good managers will make room for a good candidate when they feel they’ll add significant value to the organization.

I am in the same boat. Market is too rough currently.

So no success stories then. 🤦♀️. At least I know what I’m up against I guess.
Hit up your personal and professional networks first. This market is TOUGH if all you do is mass-apply to jobs posted online. Seemed like 1/2 aren’t even real jobs, then the others end up with 5,000 applicants in a few days. Then you never hear back, or if you do it’s with an automated ATS notification weeks or months later.
